New Web Design Courses Coming Soon

Two new courses in Web Design will be offered in the near future. CS2410 - Web Site Design will be offered for the first time in the Spring 2009 Semester. This course provides an introduction to designing web pages using Adobe Dreamweaver and other web technologies. Students will learn how to design a professional looking web site using hands-on software and real life examples. The course has no prerequisite and is recommended for all majors.

The second course CS3410 - Interactive Multimedia Design and Engineering, will be offered for the first time in the fall 2008 semester. The Department has installed new software on its computers in preparation for this course. The course provides an introduction to Interactive multimedia design emphasizing animation, sound and video using Adobe Flash and ActionScript for Adobe Flash. Students will learn how to design and create professional multimedia applications for e-commerce, interactive instructional videos, and interactive web sites with rich internet applications using state of the art multimedia software. Some programming experience is recommended but not required for this course.

New MIS Major Available this September

Starting this September the Department will be offering a major in Management Information Systems. The major consists of a combination of business, computer science and mathematics courses. To accomodate the new major the department will be introducing new courss in web design, Visual Basic and MIS Topics. More details on the program may be found on the MIS Program Worksheet.

New Fall 2008 College Algebra Section

Registration is now open for MA1020 Section 021. It was opened to accommodate all the students who have been closed out of the other sections. The new section meets Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 10:10 AM, and will be taught by Margaret Roman. The CRN is 26542.

Special Section of Calculus 3 to be Offered to High School Students This Fall

This fall the department will offer a section of MA3330 - Calculus 3 (section 0020) for high school students only. The class will be taught by Frank Sanacory, and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 PM- 8:10 PM. Students registered for the course may come to The Math Learning Center in A118 if they need extra help. For information about how to registor for this class, contact the department at 516-876-3127.
