Degree Requirements

Chinese Translation

  • Students must satisfy the college's General Education requirements. Links to the General Education worksheets may be found below. Students should consult an advisor to verify that they are using the correct worksheet.
  • Students must satisfy the requirements for the major. Links to the major worksheets may be found below. At least 24 credits in the major must be completed at Old Westbury, and students must earn C or above in all major courses.
  • Students must satisfy the college's residency requirements by earning a minimum of 48 credits and three semesters(spring or fall) at Old Westbury, or by earning 48 credits, two semesters (spring or fall) and a minimum of 12 credits during summer sessions at Old Westbury.
  • Students must complete 45 credits in courses at or above the 3000 level.
  • Students must earn a minumum of 120 credits with a minimum grade-point average of 2.0.
  • Students must earn at least 60 credits in liberal arts courses.

Students are required to see an advisor each semester to assist them in planning their program. Advisors are assigned to students by last name.
