Objectives: This course will look at the broad range of theories that attempt to explain, understand, and ultimately deal with crime.  Our attempt will be to reconcile the various theories of crime with actual criminal behavior, as well as the practices our society uses to contend with crime: how does the criminal justice system “work” (or fail to work)?  Specifically, we will take a continuing look at white collar crime.
